Chasing the Elusive Monsters of the Heartland

I began storm chasing in the spring of 2005. The following are the photographic and video accounts of my treks across the Great Plains in search of the great supercell thunderstorm and its offspring - the tornado. Only a select few chase accounts are presented here, mostly from the spring season of 2008. Each chase is filled with moments of action, suspense, and humor, regardless of the meteorological outcome. If you want to see what it is like to come face-to-face with the most intense storms on earth and to get the inside scoop of the ups and downs of storm chasing without the Hollywood fluff, here it is! Grab a cup of your favorite beverage, sit back, and enjoy!

While several people may be involved with any given chase, my driver, videographer, and primary chase partner was Nick Engerer. Check out his website at: www.caps.ou.edu/~nengerer
